Join our enthusiastic certified instructors for one of our more than 30 weekly group fitness classes — most of them free for Coors Fitness Center members and full-time DU students. Held in our fitness or cycling studios, our classes will enrich your workout and help you achieve your fitness goals.

New for 2019: Join us for specialty classes such as Kickboxing and Rig Ruckus beginning in February!

Our Classes

Cycling Classes

Our cycle classes offer you two different experiences. Take an “Endurance Ride” to help you train for outdoor cycling, or enjoy a “Rhythm Ride” where it’s all about the pumping beat of the music.

Our instructors use our new ICG power monitors to coach by color and keep you in the zone. The color zones correlate to your power-watts and monitor your effort for the best customized results.

 

"Endurance Ride" Cycling

Our “Endurance Ride” instructors are experienced cyclists and will push you to your limits to increase performance with timed intervals and resistance variance. It’s about proper technique, building strength and proper recovery to improve your skills for outdoor recreational riding or competitive racing.

"Rhythm Ride" Cycling

Can’t sit still when the music is pumping? Try our “Rhythm Ride” cycling classes where every beat of the music has you climbing a hill, sprinting or just flying down a flat road to your favorite song. Time flies when you are having fun, and these 60 minutes will have you burning calories, singing along to the music and enjoying yourself from start to finish!

Yoga & Pilates Classes

Yoga helps harmonize your mind, body and spirit. Our various yoga classes emphasize strength, focus, flexibility, emotional stability and clarity of mind.

Our pilates classes are designed to improve flexibility, build strength and develop control and endurance for the entire body.

 

General/Mat Pilates

Pilates is a systematic practice of specific exercises coupled with focused breathing patterns that strengthens and lengthens muscles of the body with the primary focus being the muscles of the core and lower back. Our Pilates classes are designed around the students attending that particular day and can consist of a Mat Pilates or more traditional Pilates.

Hatha Yoga

This class is for participants who prefer a slower, more meditative and restorative practice. Hatha yoga includes all the physical styles of yoga. It is a branch of the yoga tree, not a style. This class will introduce you to various breathing exercises and postures that begin to open the body.

Power Yoga

This class is designed for participants who have been practicing yoga for some time and are familiar with a number of different poses and the terminology. Terminology includes: Downward Dog, Pigeon, Crow, Ujjayi, Bow, Plough, Bridge, Mountain, Triangle and Upward Facing Dog. We strongly encourage you to not attend this class if you are new to yoga.

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa means “breath-synchronized movement,” and Vinyasa yoga is a series of poses that will move you through the power of inhaling and exhaling. In this class, you will move through your breath in a number of challenging power poses that will leave your body and mind feeling re-energized.

Intermediate Vinyasa Yoga

Have you practiced vinyasa yoga before? Are you looking for a challenge to help you advance your skills? This class will feature more advanced progressions and movements.

Yogalates

This fusion of yoga and pilates will wake up your spine, ignite your core, improve your flexibility and strengthen your muscles. It’s a great class for all experience levels.

Yoga Sculpt

Weight lifting meets yoga! Combining free weights and cardio with power yoga, this class helps you build strength, tone and lean out muscles, increase your cardio endurance and boost your metabolism. Set to upbeat music, intensify your power yoga practice with the addition of free weights and strength training exercises like lunges, bicep curls, pushups, squats and core with short cardio bursts. Bring plenty of water, a towel and your yoga mat. Weights are be provided.

Dance (Fitness) Classes

Take the work out of workout with these high-energy classes that combine dance and aerobic movements with energizing music in a fun atmosphere. Get a total body workout combining all elements of fitness: cardio, conditioning, balance and flexibility.

 

Dance! Dance! Dance!

Let loose and move to the beat with this high-energy class. Instructor Paige is on the DU dance team and will energize you with fun, easy-to-follow routines to Top 40 music that you can sing along too as well. No dance experience is required.

Hip Hop

Learn one routine step by step with this fun calorie burner that will make you feel like part of a dance crew! No dance experience is required.

Oula

Oula is a high-energy, easy to learn, calorie burning, crazy-fun dance workout to Top 40 hits. Classes are one epic hour of sweat, joy and total inspiration!

Zumba

This workout is disguised as a dance party! The choreography incorporates hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, meringue, mambo, martial arts, Bollywood and belly dancing to get your heart pumping!

Cardio & Strength Classes

Get your blood pumping, muscles burning and put a smile on your face! Our classes focus on the entire body and with cardio workouts, strength workouts or a mixture of both.

 

Ab Blast

Join us for a fast, core-crushing workout designed to tone, build and strengthen your abdominal muscles.

Barre Above

This class delivers a results-driven workout by fusing the best of pilates, yoga, aerobics and elements of the strengthening exercises that dancers do. Improve your posture, flexibility, overall body strength and balance with this fun and dynamic class.

Booty Burn

The 45-minute class is a lower body strength workout. it combines resistance band training with weight training to work your legs and glutes. Enjoy a high-energy, motivating environment that will push your mental and physical limits to get results.

HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)

High intensity interval training (HIIT) involves short very high-intesity intervals paired with slower intervals to recover. If you are looking to improve performance and participate in a great cardio workout, this class is for you!

Kickboxing (Paid Class)

This class will sculpt your arms and strengthen your core like no other! The class will include contact with a kickboxing bag to incorporate combination punches and kicks. TRX Suspensions will be utilized for strength and core work in combination with bag work.

Gloves will be required and sold at the front desk, or you may use your own.

Classes are limited to 10 participants and will be instructed by certified personal trainers.

Power Hour

Power Hour is the ultimate strength class focusing on burning fat, sculpting muscle and getting you into shape fast! This class targets all of your major muscle groups using compound moves with dumbbells, a barbell and bodyweight exercises. Technique is key, and the instructor will ensure that your form is spot on.

Rig Ruckus (Paid Class)

Rig Ruckus classes will be on the Coors Fitness Center floor using “The Rig” to include battle ropes, cables, weights, medicine balls, land mines and more! Burn calories, gain lean mass and let our personal trainers push you to the next level. Get results fast!

Classes are limited to six participants and will be instructed by certified personal trainers.

Step & Sculpt

The perfect all-in-one class! Step to the beat, and sculpt your physique. This class encompasses old-school step with weights. You’ll leave the class feeling great after getting both your strength exercises and cardio done in just 60 minutes.

Sweat & Sculpt

This 60-minute class combines lifting exercises in a sequence that challenges your cardiovascular system as well as your muscles. Improve lean mass and burn calories all in one hour!

Turbo Kick

This fat-blasting, ab-defining workout combines kickboxing, body weight exercises and heart-pounding dance music to improve overall strength and cardiovascular endurance.
