PUBLIC SKATE

Have fun with your family or practice your skating skills
Weekly public ice skating sessions are available at the Ritchie Center and are a great opportunity to participate in a fun family activity or to practice ice skating skills.

When participating in a Public Skate session, we recommend the following attire:

  • long pants
  • a long-sleeved shirt
  • a light or heavy jacket
  • gloves
  • a helmet

Skates are required. Rental skates are available at the Joy Burns Arena front desk.

Cost

Public Skate sessions are free to Coors Fitness Center members. For all others:

Single public skate session

  • $35: Family admission
  • $7: Adult
  • $6: Youth (12 and younger)
  • $4: Senior (65 and older)

Skate Rental: $3

Skate Aid Rental: $3

10-Punch Pass

  • $63: Adult
  • $54: Youth (12 and younger)

Public Skate 10 punch passes are available online for both adults and youth, and expire six months after purchase.

Group Admission

Available for groups of 10-24 skaters

  • $6 per skater
  • Free skate rental

Groups of 25+ must reserve the ice separate from public skate times. For hourly ice rentals, please contact Jesse Badder at 303-871-3396 or jesse.badder@du.edu.

Parking

Participants have two options for parking during Public Skate sessions:

Lot 401

Lot 401 near Joy Burns Arena will only be available to punch pass holders, who can receive a monthly permit for access to the lot.

Jr. Pioneers Hockey participants and Coors Fitness Center members can also receive on-campus parking permits.

Metered Parking

Hourly meter parking is available in Lot 311 and along Buchtel Blvd. for participants who do not hold a punch pass or are attending a single Public Skate session.
