Public Skate

We’re upgrading our calendars! If the schedule below looks jumbled or you can’t read it, all you need to do is clear your browser cache/history. Learn how to do it here.

Weekly public ice skating sessions are available at the Ritchie Center. Sessions are held in Joy Burns Arena or Magness Arena, and are a great opportunity to participate in a fun family activity or to practice ice skating skills.

When participating in a Public Skate session, we recommend the following attire:

  • long pants
  • a long-sleeved shirt
  • a light or heavy jacket
  • gloves
  • a helmet

Skates are required. Rental skates are available at the Joy Burns Arena front desk.

Freestyle Public Skate

New for summer 2018, Freestyle Public Skate are practice sessions exclusively for figure skaters who are working on jumps, spins and programs. Private lessons and individual practice time are both welcome. All participants must be proficient skaters as to not interfere with fellow skaters practicing jumps and programs.
