Whether you want to work on strengthening your hockey skills or practice hockey for fun, Stick & Puck may be for you. During these open hockey practice sessions, multiple nets are set out for use.
Participants ages 18 and older must wear helmets and hockey gloves. Participants under the age of 18 must wear full hockey equipment.
Coached Stick & Puck
In addition to our regular Stick & Puck sessions, we now offer Coached Stick & Puck sessions for you to practice your skating and hockey skills with private coaching lessons. Participation is open to players ages 5 and older, and all participants must be accompanied by a DU approved coach. To coordinate with an approved coach, please contact Shawn Reid at 303-871-3388.

Beginning December 1, 2017, we will be combining the Drop-In Hockey and Stick & Puck punch passes into the Public Hockey punch pass. You will now be able to attend both programs using the same punch pass.
To purchase a punch pass, please stop by the Joy Burns Arena front desk. Punch passes are available online and expire six months after purchase.
There are two ways you can register for Stick & Puck sessions:
- Early sign-up Coors Fitness Center members and current Public Hockey 10-punch pass holders can sign up 24 hours in advance of a scheduled session. Please call 303-871-3904, or stop by the Joy Burns Arena front desk to sign up.
- In-person sign-up In-person sign-up begins at the Joy Burns Arena front desk one hour before the scheduled session. Please note that these sessions often sell out; we recommend you get a 10-punch pass membership and pre-register.
Free parking is available in Lot 401, just outside Joy Burns Arena, at the corner of Buchtel and University boulevards. The parking lot will open one hour and 15 minutes before each Stick & Puck session.
