The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team will hold its annual Burgundy/White Game on Sunday, Sept. 25, at Magness Arena on the campus of the University of Denver. Puck drop is scheduled for 3 p.m.
The Burgundy/White Game features Avalanche players competing in a three-period, intrasquad scrimmage.
DU will host the event for the third consecutive year and for the seventh time overall, more than any other location. Magness Arena was also the site of the contest in 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2014 and 2015.
The Air Force Academy has hosted the Burgundy/White Game on five occasions (2007-09, 2011, 2013). The first three contests were played at the World Arena in Colorado Springs (1998-2000), while the 2010 game was held at 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colo.
Tickets vary in price from $10-25 and will be available through the University of Denver Athletic Department’s website at www.denverpioneers.com. Fans will be able to choose their seats from DU’s interactive Pick Your Seat Map when they sign in. Presale for Avalanche Season Ticket Members will be held on Monday, Aug. 15, at 9 a.m., followed by a presale for Avs Partial Members and Pioneers Season Ticket Members on Tuesday, Aug. 16, at 9 a.m. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, Aug. 17, at 9 a.m.
