Normally, summer is a quiet time in the Coors Fitness Center but this year, we have some exciting projects we’re tackling and some less-than glorious maintenance that requires our attention. We value transparency and want to keep you updated as we make progress.
El Pomar Natatorium
This summer, we are replacing the tile in the bottom of the pool and installing new lights. While the pool is closed, we are partnering with Denver Park & Rec. For questions about your options during the closure, please contact Rachel Cook at 303-871-7006.
Racquetball & Squash Courts
We are in the process of repairing the HVAC unit above the racquetball courts and will be replacing the floor in racquetball court 1. During this process, racquetball court 1, the squash court, the Pioneer Performance Zone and some of the fitness floor may be temporarily closed. We will provide updates throughout the process but for immediate questions, please contact Justin Holman at 303-871-4694.
Stapleton Tennis Pavilion
We have decided to re-surface and re-purpose the tennis courts at Stapleton Tennis Pavilion. What was once six single-use tennis courts will now be three basketball/multi-purpose courts and three single-use tennis courts. We are hoping to complete this project by the start of the fall quarter. For questions, please contact Justin Holman at 303-871-4694.
New Fitness Equipment
Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the two new spin bikes in the Coors Fitness Center. Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and we are happy to announce that we will be purchasing 21 new Cybex IC6 bikes that will be used for all of our cycling classes. We are expecting the new bikes to arrive in early September.
In addition to the bikes, we will be purchasing/installing fresh equipment in the weight room including new Cybex Power Racks (Half / Half Combo Rack) and a Torque X-Lab Package. We are expecting the weight room equipment to arrive periodically throughout September.
We will install the equipment in waves to avoid closing the entire weight room floor for a long period of time. We will keep you informed of our timing and any additional updates. For questions about this equipment or the new bikes, please contact Justin Holman at 303-871-4694.
In addition to the above equipment and facility maintenance, we are excited to share news plans for our studio spaces with you! We will be re-dedicating Studio C as a wellness and mindfulness space. You will begin to see more meditation and mindfulness-based classes being held here along with many of our yoga classes.
Cycle classes will move to Studio D on the concourse level. We will be moving towards a more digital and data-driven approach for our cycle classes. Our focus will truly shift to your personal performance and helping you maximize the cycle experience.
For questions about studio changes, please contact Justin Holman at 303-871-4694.
We greatly appreciate your understanding, patience and collaboration during these processes. We are excited to enter a new chapter of changes and updates in the Coors Fitness Center with you!
