The last two weeks in the Ritchie Center’s land of aquatics have been abnormally quiet due to the annual maintenance in El Pomar Natatorium. This week has seen the pool being filled back up with water for Monday’s re-opening!
Did you know that Denver’s Hilltoppers Swimming program continues its successes as a Silver Medal status team in USA Swimming Club Recognition Program and had ten athletes qualify for this year’s Olympic Trials? Did you also know this last year El Pomar Natatorium saw 5,933 athletes in a combined 22,353 individual swims in meets hosted at the Ritchie Center?
Along with the Hilltoppers program, El Pomar will see a rise in usage over the next few weeks between Denver Pioneers Swimming & Diving, Coors Fitness Center members, Learn to Swim program, Masters Swimming, Water Polo and DU’s Club Teams. Club Kayaking, Club Rowing, Club Men’s and Women’s Water Polo and the addition of a new Club Swimming team this year round out the student programs participating in the water this coming fall season.
Check out the latest open lap swimming times to get back in the water starting on Monday, August 29!
