Club Sports bring together groups of students with similar interests to organize and participate in a specific sport and/or recreational sporting activity. If you want to play for a competitive, dedicated team, club sports are a great fit for your DU lifestyle! As DU’s largest student organization, club sports sets you up with regular practice and game schedules that allow you to compete on local, regional and national levels.

Through club sports, you have the opportunity to blend your athletic skills with real-world leadership experiences. Our club officers create an annual team budget, fundraise, schedule games and practices and promote their teams to increase the number of competitive opportunities available for DU students.

If you’re passionate about sports and DU, we encourage you to become a leader within one of our 32 active club sports today!

Are you bound by the passion to be in the outdoors? The Alpine Club thrives in the outdoors, from the fresh snow to the desert heat to the crisp mountain air. Since 1928, the Alpine Club’s sole purpose is to expose as many DU students as possible to the numerous outdoor activities in and around Colorado. The club is a strong collection of outdoor enthusiasts where brand-new beginners to experts can all find their place experiencing the Rocky Mountains.

Every year we host a variety of off-campus trips for students to experience climbing, skiing/snowboarding, backpacking, hiking, and white water rafting as well as hosting on-campus activities to unite outdoor enthusiasts at ski/snowboard film premiers, outdoor speakers, clinics and contests.

As DU’s largest single student-run club, we invite you to experience the outdoors with us today!

Intramural Sports

Since 1927, intramural sports have been an integral part of the Pioneer student experience. If you’re looking to try a new sport or enjoy being active, intramural sports are a great activity to help promote wellness, healthy competition and friendship. Intramural sports allows DUstudents, faculty and staff to participate in team competitions on campus through different sport offerings throughout the year.

Almost 90 years after the Intramural Sports program began at DU, the original purpose of providing an athletic experience to as many students as possible still holds true today. Check out each quarter’s intramural sports and special events today and get active with other Pioneers!
