A DU tradition since 1967, Intramural Sports are designed to offer DU students, faculty and staff fun physical activity, healthy competition and the chance to make new friends. IM Sports provide a flexible, fun and structured environment for everyone who participates. Our sports include basketball, broomball, flag football, soccer, Ultimate frisbee and more. Leagues, tournaments, drop-in sessions and special events are offered during the academic quarters to serve the large and diverse DU population.

Leagues are divided into divisions such as open, women’s and co-rec. We aim to provide student development opportunities through participation and working as an IM employee.

Select the desired sport and indicate as a free agent in as many divisions within a league as preferred. Choose a division and click the green “Register/Signup” button to sign up as a free agent. Additional background information on your sports experience can be provided if desired. Additional divisions in the same league can also be checked from this page. Ultimately, this process aids team captains in recruiting players for their roster if they choose to do so.

The Intramural Sports Office endeavors to facilitate matches between free agents and teams seeking players before each season begins. It’s important to understand that a perfect solution is not always guaranteed, and there are no assurances of being placed on a team. Work With Us

Intramural Sports employs more than 30 officials and supervisors each quarter for five sports: basketball, broomball, flag football, soccer and volleyball.

Additionally, officials work with our self-officiated sports including ultimate frisbee and tennis, as well as one-day tournaments and sports we may contract outside officials for (ice hockey, etc.).

No prior experience is needed to become an Intramural Sports official. The first three weeks of each quarter includes classroom-based and on-site training for all new and returning officials. You will review rules, mechanics, positioning and conflict management, and take part in live scrimmages to prepare for the season.

Supervisors are on-site for all competitions to provide immediate feedback and guidance throughout your shifts. All supervisors are veteran Intramural Sports officials.

Most officials strive to be proficient in two or three officiated sports, but there is no formal requirement to officiate more than one.

Hours are flexible and can be worked around your class schedule, extracurricular obligations and your own Intramural Sports games.

Most officials work between six and 12 hours per week. All games are held on campus and are typically during the following days and times:
Sundays: 12:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.
Mondays: 6:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.
Tuesdays: 6:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.
Wednesdays: 6:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.
Thursdays: 6:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.

Pay rates begin at $17.29/hour with opportunities for promotion.

Visit our Employment Opportunities page and complete the application form or email us at clubIMsports@du.edu.

Applications are reviewed and interviews held during the following times for each season, assuming positions are available:
Fall Quarter: April-May (returning students) & June-August (new students)
Winter Quarter: late October
Spring Quarter: mid-February
